Media reports revealed that Spanish Real Madrid has completed the procedures for contracting Frenchman Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain.

This news comes one day after Real Madrid won the Champions League title, after defeating Germany’s Borussia Dortmund 2-0, in the final match hosted at Wembley Stadium yesterday, Saturday.

The Mbappe transfer story has been one of the most interesting events in world football over the past few years.

After much controversy, the French star announced his departure from Paris Saint-Germain on May 10.

Transfer specialist Romano Fabrizio confirmed that the contracts had been signed, and that Mbappé’s signing for Real Madrid was scheduled to be announced very soon.

He added, “Mbappe made his decision in February, and he can now be considered a new player at Real Madrid.”

Announcement date

According to a report published by the British newspaper “The Guardian”, the club is looking forward to the announcement early tomorrow, Monday, due to the desire of France coach Didier Deschamps to determine the future of the national team captain before the start of the European Championship.

According to the Spanish press, Mbappe will receive one of the highest salaries in the club’s history, with an amount estimated at approximately 35 million euros per season, slightly higher than the two current stars, Brazilian Vinicius Junior and Englishman Jude Bellingham.

This salary remains very far from what he received with Saint-Germain, which is estimated at 70 million euros excluding bonuses.

His free transfer will be accompanied by a signing bonus of more than €100 million and an unprecedented distribution of his image rights.

Mbappe played his 307th and last match with Saint-Germain, where he led them to victory over Olympique Lyonnais 2-1 to win the French Cup.

Mbappe brought the curtain down on his career with Saint-Germain by winning the 14th local title in the 8 seasons he spent with him, with 6 league titles, 4 French Cups, 2 League Cup titles, and 3 Champions Cup titles.

Mbappe, who joined Saint-Germain in 2017 from Monaco, had extended his contract in 2022 until 2024, but last summer he refused to activate a clause allowing him to stay another year in the “Parc des Princes.”

The player, who leaves Paris Saint-Germain as the top scorer in the club’s history with 256 goals and 108 assists in 307 matches, said, “What I have here I will not find anywhere, but I will have other things, and I know they will be wonderful as well.”
