The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced the regulations for the new edition of the African Champions League and African Confederation Cup (confederation) tournaments for the next season 2024-2025.
CAF said on its official website – Monday – that it was decided to hold the preliminary round for the two tournaments during the period from 16 to 18 August, with the group stage taking place between October and December.
He added that it was decided to hold the elimination rounds, from the eighth round to the final, during the period from March to May of next year.
He explained that the top 12 federations according to the classification have the right to include and participate in two clubs in the Champions League and Confederation League versions, which are Algeria, Angola, Ivory Coast, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Nigeria, Democratic Republic of the Congo, South Africa, Sudan, Tunisia, and Tanzania.
He stressed that registration for the lists of teams that will participate in the first preliminary round will be opened during the period from the first to the 20th of next July, and the period will be extended for the teams that participate in the second preliminary round and pre-group stage during the period from July 21 to August 31. /August, while there will be a registration for clubs before the start of the group stage during the period from the first to the 30th of September, and the last registration period for winter transfers during the period from the first to the 31st of January 2025, with a maximum of 7 players, including the replacement of 4 players.
