Yesterday, Sunday, former US President Donald Trump promised to end the war on Gaza, during a face-to-face conversation with Dagestani icon Khabib Nurmagomedov, the former lightweight champion in mixed martial arts (UFC).

Trump, 77 years old, attended the main fight, which was held at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, and brought together Russian Islam Makhachev and American Dustin Poirier.

After an exciting and strong fight, the wrestler Makhachev succeeded in defeating Poirier in the fifth round (submission) and retaining the world title in the lightweight category for the third time.

Nurmagomedov urged the former US president to do everything in his power to put an end to the war. The Fox Sports website reported that cameras recorded Nurmagomedov telling Trump, “I know you will stop the war in Palestine,” to which the former US president responded: “We will stop that.” “I will stop the war.”

Trump, the candidate for the presidential elections scheduled for next November, called on Israel to stop its attacks on Gaza as soon as possible, stressing that the Tel Aviv government had suffered a major loss in public relations.

In a previous statement to a radio station in New York, Trump criticized the ongoing Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7, warning the Netanyahu government against continuing the attack on Gaza, and said, “Let us return to peace and stop killing people.”

The former president was convicted of 34 criminal counts of falsifying records, but vowed to appeal his conviction, saying he was “honored” by the legal battle and that “we are fighting for our Constitution.”

Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been waging a devastating war on the Gaza Strip that has left tens of thousands of civilians martyred and wounded, most of them children and women, and massive destruction and famine that has struck the Strip.
