More than 40 million times, an image was used, designed with artificial intelligence, bearing the phrase “All eyes on Rafah,” showing hundreds of tents in which the people of Gaza live, and documenting some of the difficult humanitarian conditions.

The picture shows a supposed huge gathering of tents in the devastated Palestinian Strip, with “All eyes on Rafah” written in the middle of it in English.

The photo, which was published yesterday, Tuesday, on Instagram, attracted tens of millions.

The publication of the photo came in the wake of an Israeli raid that killed at least 45 people, and hundreds were injured in a camp for the displaced, west of Rafah.

Millions of users and some celebrities around the world shared the image, including dozens of football stars, led by:

  • Frenchman Ibrahim Konate (Liverpool, England).
  • Algerian Riyad Mahrez (Al-Ahly Saudi Arabia).
  • Senegalese Nicholas Jackson (Chelsea).
  • Frenchman Wesley Fofana (Chelsea).
  • Moroccan Abdel Razzaq Hamdallah (Saudi Union).
  • Senegalese Khalidou Koulibaly (Al Hilal Saudi Arabia).
  • Portuguese Joao Cancelo (Barcelona).
  • Portuguese Rafael Leao (Milan).

Other players also sympathized with Gaza and Palestine, but did not use the same image, such as:

  • Former English football star David Beckham.
  • Frenchman Joel Kunde (Barcelona).
  • Former German football star Mesut Ozil.
  • Former Manchester United star Eric Cantona.
  • French star Paul Pogba.
